I'm sorry, but as simple and straightforward as it seems, I found it a little distracting for two reasons:
ReplyDeleteFirst, I initially thought it was about the plight of the homeless, and I kept thinking the actor was not convincing me he actually was homeless: (I thought his beard was too neatly trimmed, his walk was too purposeful, and his gaze was too steady.)
Second, by the time I realized it was about reuniting war-torn families, a message I might easily have missed, I thought the whole thing should have been set in a war-torn place, perhaps with a mother looking to find her child's face in a refugee camp, or among child soldiers, or a person scanning a bulletin board for clues--anything which would bring our thoughts to the issue at hand.
Not much really...! Confusing,
ReplyDelete
